Description: Canadian knifemaker Alain Desaulniers' work is meticulously performed. Alain has had the opportunity to work with renowned knifemaker John Young, who in turn worked under Steve Johnson. The influence of both Young and Johnson is clearly visible in Desaulniers' work. This, matched with his attention to detail, makes for an exceptional knife.
The stainless steel blade was hollow ground to accentuate the dramatic grind lines. By using CPM154CM powdered metallurgical stainless steel, Alain assures a keen, long lasting edge. The guard is formed from 416 stainless steel and has been meticulously hand engraved by Bruce Bradshaw. The full tang assures a durable construction. A distal taper to both blade and tang results in perfect balance. Red fiber spacers assist the ivory to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle has been nicely shaped for a very comfortable, secure grip. Both pins have been engraved to match the guard. Exceptional work throughout.
