Description: Master Smith Harvey Dean's work shines in the 'Spirit of the Wild' hunter. In fact, this is a dressed up version of the hunter that Harvey actually carries and is a well designed full-function hunter/skinner. This knife was featured on page 105 of the October 2007 issue of Blade Magazine in an article titled "Hottest Knives of the Hottest ABS Smiths". This knife has been in a single collection and it has been meticulously cared for. It is in new condition.
The blade was forged to shape from Harvey's own damascus. It is a pattern that he calls Chimera and incorporates 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The blade joins seamlessly to the 416 stainless steel guard. Both the guard and stainless escutcheon were engraved by Mastersmith Steve Dunn. The handle is a mortised tang construction formed from amber toned sambar stag. It is with domed pins for an heirloom appearance. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
