Description: Raymond Richard's designs have a timeless grace about them that comes from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of hard to find materials.
Ray brought together materials recovered from antique vehicles when creating this knife. The blade was forged to shape beginning with a leaf spring from a horse drawn buggy. This carbon steel has excellent edge holding and resilience. The blade is satin finished and antiqued. A differential temper line is clearly visible on the blade, resulting in an edge that is extremely hard and will stay sharp through extended use, whereas the spine is softer and supportive.
The guard and butt are forged from wrought iron. A hammered finish on the S shaped guard highly accentuates the knife’s rustic feel. The curly maple handle is comfortable in the hand and has warm tones with a repetitive 'curled' grain structure.
Accompanied by hand sewn leather sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
