Description: This exceptional folder is Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's first multi-blade knife. Each of the three blades is formed from Rick's multi-bar damascus, combining 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The multiple bars have been set in an opposing twist, resulting in a pattern that is immediately captivating. The large, clip point blade measured 2-1/2 inches. The clip point is commonly used as a multi-purpose blade and is preferred for its versatility. The sheepsfoot (wharncliffe) blade measures 1-3/4 inches. This blade shape results in more strength at the point of the blade making it a good tool for carving chews out of tobacco plugs. It is also used as a carpenter's blade. The razor blade measures 1-3/4 inches. This blade shape was developed for war veterans and allows the blade to be opened with one hand. The specially designed blade tip is uniquey tapered to hook onto the belt or other surface to open easily and requires only one hand to do so.
When closed, the knife measures just over 3-3/4 inches in length. 416 stainless steel front and rear bolsters surround amber stag scales. The bolsters have been hand engraved. 410 stainless steel liners have been hand fileworked. Exceptional work throughout on a very rare find!
