Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's folders are exceptional creations. The damascus blade was created by laddering a detailed mosaic pattern. The resulting steel is both fascinating from a distance and upon closer examination. The blade is perfectly centered and has silky smooth action as it glides open. A diamond has been set in the heat blued thumb stud. Exhibition grade white lip mother of pearl scales have been dovetailed to the bolsters for a perfect fit. Rick kept these scales for about 10 years before turning them into a knife. Rick told me that they are the best mother of pearl he has ever used. Rick combined carving and texturing to create a handle that is both visually exciting and pleasing to the hand. The scales and bolsters are set on textured and nitre blued 15N20 carbon steel liners. The screws have been hand fileworked and heat blued as well. Damascus backbar. As you would expect, exceptional fit and finish throughout!
