Description: Mastersmith Dave Ellis creates a great knife. The heat colored random pattern damascus blade has been forged to shape from carbon steels for exceptional edge holding. The oval guard is formed from mokume gane. Mokume gane is created by forging non-ferrous metals (in this case brass, copper, and nickel silver) to form damascene layers. A copper spacer separates the main section of the handle from the guard. Desert ironwood spacers surround sambar stag. A mosaic pin completes the handle. This knife has been in a private collection and by all appearances could have been made yesterday. This knife was featured in Jim Weyer's classic Book, Points of Interest V. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
