Description: Jonny Walker Nilsson is a master of Sami-style knives. Perhaps most desired of his work are full horn hunters. These knives offer challenges not encountered with other knives. Reindeer antler of a size that can be used for full horn knives is near impossible to come by. The traditional Scandinavian pattern on the sheath and handle is hand engraving darkened with pine bark powder (rather than scrimshaw, which is comparatively simpler to execute). The engraving is incredibly clear. The sheath features cutouts that are a hallmark of Jonny's work. When the knife is inserted into the sheath, the engraving patterns in the sheath continue seamlessly into the handle. The handle is very traditional for the Nordic blades having a slim oval shape that fits very comfortably into the hand.
The multi-bar mosaic damascus blade was forged to shape by renowned bladesmith Conny Persson. The firecracker edge and spine bars were forged from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for exceptional edge retention. The central mosaic bar has detailed nickel figures set against a reptilian skin background. The heat colored edge bars show off blue and purple tones.
Exceptional work throughout!
