Description: Jeff Driscoll creates knives that transcend simply being a sharp object and move into true art.
The complex damascus blade was forged by renowned Swedish bladesmith Mattias Styrefors. Twisted damascus forged from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels forms the spine and edge bars. The center bar features detailed mosaic figures forged into the steel.
The handle and sheath are carved from African blackwood and desert ironwood -- two of the hardest woods on the earth. The sculpting is entirely done by hand and shows tremendous ability as well as fit and finish. Jeff has inlaid over 7 linear feet of fine silver into the handle and sheath. Copper inlay adds accents. The handle forms the sea dragon's tail. The sheath forms the dragon's head. Meticulous hand carving is complimented by copper and fine silver inlay. Jeff's work is inspired by NW Native art. The blade, when inserted into the sheath, forms the tongue. The upper of the sheath is formed from copper. A very inspired work of art!
