Description: Journeyman Smith Bill Buxton created this knife by first forging a radial mosaic damascus from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. Bill then forged his radial pattern damascus around a 52100 carbon steel core, resulting in a dramatic san mai. The blade was then heat treated using a temperature controlled oven to assure that proper temperatures were obtained and maintained throughout the entire heat treating process. An oval guard and ferrule are formed from matching mosaic damascus fittings. The handle is formed from a unique piece of dyed and stabilized giraffe bone. The leather sheath is hand tooled and sewn sheath assuring years of service.
