Description: The hand forged head of this dramatic hawk is 52100 carbon steel. The antiqued head has been sculpted with a triple chevron and carved and pierced chalice hammer. The right side is engraved with "L.C. Hansen In the year of our Lord 2008". He has inlaid an 1865 two cent piece into the left side of the blade. The head has a tapered leading edge. The haft has an antiqued titanium end cap and permanent plug at the top. It has been carved for a perfect grip.
The head length is 8 1/2 in. and the cutting edge is 3 1/8 in. The haft measures 22 3/4 in. long. This piece is very sturdy and well weighted for chopping as well as hammering. Exceptional work throughout!
