Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique and immediately identifiable. The heat blued Damascus blade and scales show off detailed mosaic patterns. The blade has silky smooth action and is perfectly centered. It is easily opened using the heat blued thumb stud which is set with a faceted diamond. The scales have a central window frame that shows off engraved 1018 mild steel. The scroll work is particularly dramatic. Rick has also developed a technique whereby he heat blued the engraved section so that the background, which at first appears a deep charcoal gray is revealed to be formed from brilliant blues upon closer examination. Screws throughout have also been hand fileworked and heat blued. Meticulously hand fileworked 15N20 carbon steel liners have been heat blued and surround the engraved 1080 carbon steel backbar. Here, too, the engraving has been heat blued to bring out subtle blue tones. The interior of the liners has been mirror polished and reveals the engraved interior of the backbar. Exceptional!
