Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique, immediately identifiable, and tremendously captivating. This folder incorporates antique tortoise shell with ladder pattern damascus and gold. The translucent tortoise shell has been set over 23K gold, resulting in a brilliance that cannot be achieved in any other way. The 228 layer ladder pattern damascus continues from the blade onto the bolsters. The bolsters are inlaid with 24K gold leaves and vines. The damascus backbar has also been inlaid with 24K gold vines. The blade has silky smooth action and is perfectly centered. It is easily opened using the citrine thumb stud. Screws throughout have been hand fileworked and heat blued. Meticulously hand fileworked 15N20 carbon steel liners have been heat blued and surround the damascus backbar. The interior of the liners has been mirror polished and reveals that the backbar has been inlaid with gold on the interior as well. This is one of the most captivating folders that I have held in some time!
