Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique and immediately identifiable. From artistry of design to skill of implementation, Rick's knives always grab my attention.
The mosaic damascus blade was forged by Rick from 1080 carbon steel and pure nickel. A dramatic explosion is repeated throughout the blade. Matching Damascus was used for both front and rear bolsters. A diamond thumb stud adds a nice ornament to the blade. The blade is perfectly centered and has silky smooth action. Fossil mammoth ivory scales are coffee toned with deep blue veins moving through the surface. The ivory has been dovetailed to both front and rear bolsters for a perfect fit. 15N20 carbon steel liners have been meticulously hand fileworked. Over the past several years, Rick has been increasingly inspired by engraving. After a recent session at the GRS school, it is no surprise that Rick incorporated engraving onto the backbar -- both inside and out. The screws have been hand fileworked and heat blued. As you would expect, exceptional fit and finish throughout!
