Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden creates an amazing folder. This stunning knife was made back in 2008 and shows Andre's work at its best from that time period. This knife has been kept in a private collection since it was made in 2009. The knife is in new condition and by all appearances, Andre could have made it yesterday!
The drop point blade has silky-smooth action and is perfectly centered. The mosaic damascus used throughout the knife was forged by Ettoré Gianferarri, assuring that the patterns will be unique and different from those generally found on the American market. The dramatic pattern of the mosaic damascus blade is extremely complex and immediately grabs your attention. Because the blade is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and both the damascus and warthog tusk inlays.
The inlay on this folder is exceptional and rarely matched in other makers. Warthog tusk has been meticulously and perfectly inlaid into a frame of 416 stainless steel. Another unique pattern of mosaic was inlaid between the sections of warthog tusk. Fileworked titanium liners have been anodized to a complimentary bronze hue and surround the stainless steel backbar.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
