Description: This exceptional tanto is one of the master-works of David Brodziak's career. The damascus is particularly impressive and moves from a random pattern damascus to a thicker primarily layer and into a ladder pattern damascus on each side of the blade. The handle and saya are formed from Australian hardwood and have been lacquered and painted by Australian artist Carol Anne O'Conner. This painting is a hallmark of David's knives, but it is particularly rare to find to such a degree of detail and such a fascinating theme. A Samurai warrior stands in water and it surrounded by a sea dragon spirit. A koi swims through the water. On the handle, the same sea dragon spirit is attacked by birds as it slithers through the sea. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
