Description: This knife is known to the U.S. Army Special Forces as "The Yarborough" and to everyone else as "The Green Beret Knife". It is a no-nonsense, hardworking tool, designed by renowned knife maker and designer Bill Harsey, with function and manufacturing input from Chris Reeve. Made in Boise, Idaho by Chris Reeve Knives, the Green Beret Knife is a using knife that, just like the men for whom it was designed, is efficient, tough and uncompromising. In October of 2004, Chris Reeve and Bill Harsey created a Limited Edition of 150 custom cocobolo handled Green Beret knives. This knife was offered through the National Independent Cutlery Association.
The blade was formed from CPM S30V stainless (55-57RC) with matte black finish. The custom cocobolo handle was specially designed by Aaron Houge. The handle is carved for a perfect, secure grip and nicely shows off the warm tones and twisted grain pattern of the cocobolo. The custom leather sheath was designed by Chris especially for this collection.
This knife has been in a single collection and has been well cared for. It has never been used to cut and has not been sharpened after being made. The knife is in new condition. The sheath is in excellent condition; the sheath has some very minor box scuffing but has never been carried. The original box is in good condition. An exceptional find!
