Description: The Natchez Bowie is named after Natchez, Mississippi, where James Bowie is said to have had a bloody fight in 1827. A famous McKenney and Hall lithograph shows a Bowie of this style being carried by the Cherokee Chief Tah-Chee.
Neil McKee's Natchez Style Bowie will be at home both in the field and in a collection. The 5160 carbon steel blade will be easy to maintain and will hold an excellent edge. The spine has been fileworked, providing a secure thumb purchase. The blade features floral scroll engraving done by Neil. The mild steel bolsters were hand satin finished and also feature floral scroll engraving by Neil. The bolsters are dovetailed to buffalo horn scales set with stainless pins. The sheath features hand tooling that nicely compliments the engraving. Excellent work throughout on a period style piece!
