Description: This is an exceptional Bill Moran trailing point Bowie. The blade was satin finished and brought just shy of a mirror polish. The hand forged blade is in excellent condition and does not show evidence of having been used to cut. The right side of the blade is stamped "BY / W.F. MORAN / LIME KILN / MD".
Most of Bill's stag handled knives were made between 1965 to 1970. This one would have most likely been made between 1964 and 1967. It is particularly rare to find a large blade with a stag handle during the Lime Kilm era of Bill Moran's knives.
The large stag crown has great texture and is very comfortable when held. Two brass pins finish out the handle. Excellent work throughout (as you would expect)!
