Description: Johan Gustafsson is famed for creating some of the most detailed Damascus found anywhere -- and this is an exceptional example of his work. Johan is best known for his folders. When he puts his hands to creating a dagger, the results are truly exceptional!
The 5 1/3 inch dagger ground blade shows off the intricate mosaic damascus perfectly. Highly detailed Eastern dragons are forged directly into the steel and move across an explosion damascus background. Johan has spent years developing a complex heat coloring technique to bring out colors rarely, if ever, found in other makers' work. Greens, blues, golds, and purples intertwine. The resulting Damascus is both visually interesting from a distance and captivating upon closer examination.
The handle combines stacked layers of mammoth ivory, walrus ivory, and musk ox horn. These are separated by fileworked damascus spacers.
The dagger is accompanied by a presentation stand made from a piece of prehistoric whale rib bone and saw fish jaw bone. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
