Blade: Hand forged 52100 carbon steel with an antiqued finish
Handle: Hickory with pyrographed stars in diamonds
Description: The hand forged head is 52100 carbon steel with an antique patina. The head has been sculpted with a triple chevron and carved hammer. The right side is engraved with "L.C. Hansen In the year of our Lord 2008". He has inlaid an 1863 Indian Head Penny into each side of the blade. The head has a tapered leading edge and heal. The haft has an antiqued titanium end cap and permanent plug at the top. It has been pyrographed with two stars in diamonds.
The head length is 8 2/3 in. and the cutting edge is 3 1/4 in. The haft measures 22 1/4 in. long. This piece is very sturdy and well weighted for chopping as well as hammering. Exceptional work throughout!
