Description: Knives made by Mastersmith Wade Colter have become increasingly hard to come by over the last several years. He is one of the greatest masters of the forge and has a fit and finish that is hard to match. This Montana Toothpick is one of my favorite knives that we have ever had available.
By forging 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels to make his Damascus, Wade has assured an optimal carbon ratio. The result is an edge that will stay sharp with extended use. The clip point blade has a repeating ladder and has excellent chatoyancy. Nickel fittings include a nickel silver ferrule, oval guard and blade collar (to protect the blade from being scratched when inserted into the sheath). The fossil walrus ivory scales are burnt cream toned with hints of caramel. They have been sculpted into the bloom of Persian wheat. The pommel is formed from Damascus and is completed with a screw. Showing a tremendous amount of skill, Wade has created this as a "take-down" knife. By removing the screw, the handle may be disassembled for cleaning. The knife is accompanied by a single seamed, leather sheath with nickel silver frog and throat. The final detail on the sheath is matching ladder pattern Damascus. Exceptional work throughout!
