Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley is best known for his detailed folders. As an avid hunter and former outfitter, however, Rick sees the need for precision hunting knives that are the pinnacle of a use knife and so each year he makes a small number of hunting knives.
The hand forged blade is formed from 52100 carbon steel -- many bladesmiths and knife users feel that this steel is among the best, if not the best steel for edge holding. A differential heat treat adds to the strength of this blade. The blade has been distal tapered for perfect balance and the spine has been rounded for a perfect feel. The handle is formed from sheep horn. Sheep horn has the unique characteristic of becoming 'grippy' when wet and so is an ideal choice for a hunting knife handle. As you would expect, the fit and finish is spectacular.
