Description: Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley's knives are unique and immediately identifiable. From artistry of design to skill of implementation, Rick's knives always command attention. Rick is well known for his exceptional folders, however each year he makes a small number of hunting knives. As an avid hunter and former outfitter, Dunkerley sees the need for precision hunting knives that are the pinnacle of a use knife. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances, Rick could have made it yesterday!
The hand forged blade is 52100 carbon steel -- many bladesmiths and knife users feel that this steel is among the best, if not the best steel for edge holding. A differential heat treat adds to the strength of this blade. The blade is distal tapered for perfect balance and the spine has been rounded for a comfortable thumb purchase. A hand rubbed satin finish on the blade provides an heirloom feel.
Sheep horn handle scales are secured to the full tang using brass pins. Sheep horn is an ideal choice for a hunting knife because it offers a comfortable, slip-resistant grip. The contoured handle feels great in the hand.
To keep the knife close at hand, a brown pouch style leather sheath is included.
This knife is perfect for the avid outdoorsman that wants to carry an exceptional, high performance knife.
