Description: Rick Eaton's folders are among my favorite work from any maker anywhere. This sole authorship step down folder is the first of its design. The blade and scales have both been made from a twisted mosaic Damascus loaf. The result is a highly complex damascus pattern that has tremendous artistry and immediately grabs attention. The blade ahs been dagger ground and has silky smooth action. The step down blade makes it appear as though the blade is even longer. Window frames on each side reveal exhibition grade black lip mother of pearl. Showing Jim Schmidt's influence, the window frames are rounded as they approach the mother of pearl.
Screw construction used throughout. Each of the screws have been meticulously hand fileworked. The 15N20 carbon steel liners have been heat colored to a deep blue. This surrounds the 1084 carbon steel backbar, which has been heat colored to a golden tone. The backbar has been engraved in a flair cut style -- a combination of Western and Gun engraving styles.
Exceptional work throughout!
