Description: Swedish bladesmith Michael Andersson is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many Nordic knifemakers, Michael believes very strongly in sole authorship, from forging the blade to shape, to creating the Damascus, to sewing the sheath. His style is immediately identifiable and is very dramatic. Micke is one of the few Swedish makers to make large, impressive Bowies.
The multi-bar composite Damascus blade is formed from a twist pattern Damascus center and firecracker pattern edge and spine bars. The Damascus was forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for exceptional edge holding. The exceptional blade leads into a copper "habaki". The habaki is a blade guard brought in from Japanese katana. Alternating sections of nickel silver and Damascus surround the exhibition grade mammoth ivory handle. Blue tones predominate in the exceptional ivory. The knife is extremely comfortable when held and has perfect balance and a nice heft. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
