Description: The Natchez Bowie is named after Natchez, Mississippi, where James Bowie is said to have had a bloody fight in 1827. A famous McKenney and Hall lithograph shows a Bowie of this style being carried by the Cherokee Chief Tah-Chee.
Neil McKee's Natchez Style Bowie will be at home both in the field and in a collection. The 5160 carbon steel blade will be easy to maintain and will hold an excellent edge. The spine has been fileworked, providing a secure thumb purchase. The mild steel bolsters were hand satin finished and feature floral scroll engraving by Neil. The bolsters are dovetailed to elk antler scales. Excellent work throughout on a period style piece!
