Description: Swedish knifemaker Greger Forselius has a sense of design that results in an exceptional knife. This exquisite hunter has been in a private collection since it was made in the fall of 2007. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, Forselius could have made it yesterday.
The stacked handle fits securely and comfortably in the hand. The front section of the handle is formed from carved, crosscut, ancient walrus ivory. Carved ancient mammoth ivory spacers surround a section of fluted Arizona desert ironwood. Stabilized giraffe bone scales are set with stabilized masur birch spacers on the sides of the handle. Finally the handle is completed with a carved ancient mammoth ivory pommel. Fileworked thin nickel silver spacers are used throughout.
The dramatic blade was forged from carbon steels by renowned Swedish bladesmith Vladic Danikuk. Explosion pattern bars form the spine and edge. The center core is a detailed and highly complex mosaic damascus that is sure the grab attention. The patterns are immediately captivating and the blade will have exceptional edge holding.
The knife is accompanied by a custom traditional Swedish leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout. This hunter continues to be one of the most impressive works by Greger Forselius to date!
