Description: Don Bell is a maker that has become a force to be reckoned with. Having started making knives under the watchful eye of Rick Dunkerley, he learned quickly what to look for. This knife has a great fit and finish, with a thin, high performance blade Damascus blade. Looking at the knife, it is no surprise that it won Best Hand Forged Knife at the 2007 OKCA show in Eugene Oregon and at the 2007 PKA show in Denver.
The complex Damascus blade features a differential zone heat treatment: the edge is super-hard, whereas the spine is softer and supportive. This results in a keen, long lasting edge with a very durable blade. The clip is brought just shy of fully sharpened. Damascus fittings meet seamlessly with the blade. The fossil mammoth ivory handle is a deep blue/green tone with hints of underlying caramel. Exceptional work throughout!
