Description: Mastersmith David Anders created this exceptional firm fillet knife. It will make preparing fish easy, with a long, slender blade to get around bones. The 7 1/4" blade allows for preparing small to medium sized fish.
The blade, bolster, and tang are all forged from a single piece of 5160 carbon steel round bar. Creating integral knives is particularly hard and shows a tremendous amount of skill. The blade was forged to shape and distal tapered for optimal balance. A differentially heat treatment results in a softer, supportive spine, with a super-hard, long lasting, razor sharp edge. The blade was meticulously hand satin finished for an elegant heirloom appearance. The African blackwood handle swells gently into the palm for a sure grip that continues to feel comfortable after hours of work. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
