Description: Elk Crown Bowie is among Raymond Richard's masterpieces to date. This large Bowie is nearly a sword when wielded in the hand.
The 12 1/3 inch blade has a graceful false edge that moves along the spine, nearly half way up the blade. This pulls the weight out of the blade and creates an aggressive point. An appleseed grind assures a very strong cutting edge.
The S-guard, ferrule, pommel and loop were hand forged from antiqued wrought iron recovered from an 1850s era wagon wheel. The distressed wrought iron has a nearly Damascene pattern. The handle, is formed from a large elk stag crown that has also been antiqued. The large handle is very comfortable and secure in the hand. Excellent fit and finish throughout with a great balance.
