Description: This masterpiece by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives. The steel used for the blade was recovered from a turn of the century lumber mill saw blade. This type of steel was developed to withstand the heavy stresses of lumber mills. Raymond has antiqued the surface. A differential heat treatment assures that the spine is soft and resilient, whereas the edge is hard and will maintain a keen edge. The wrought iron for the fittings is forged from an 1850s era wagon wheel. The jet black African blackwood handle is nicely offset by the wrought iron. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
