Description: Corrie designs a spectacular folder and pays attention to every detail. His knives have unique appearance and feel, combining rare materials such as mammoth ivory and meteorite.
The Damascus used on this boot ground blade is forged by Ettoré Gianferarri in South Africa. It is made in extremely small runs. You are unlikely to see this Damascus anywhere else. Damascus loops travel across a charcoal-grey background. The blade is well centered and has smooth action. It is easily opened using the ruby thumb stud.
The fossil mammoth ivory front and rear scales meet in elegant arcs to the Gibeon Meteorite bolsters. The mammoth ivory is caramel toned with hints of green veins. The central bolsters are formed from Gibeon Meteorite that landed in Great Namaqualand, Namibia, Africa. It radio carbon dates to over 4 billion years ago. The Gibeon fragments are spread over one of the largest strewn fields in the world, measuring 70 miles wide by 230 miles long and have a distinctive pattern known as the Widmanstatten pattern, which is one of the richest and most distinct patterns found in meteorites.
Gold anodized and fileworked titanium liners surround the stainless steel backbar. Both the backbar and spine have been hand fileworked. The interior of the liners have been mirror polished. A ruby gemstone is set in the backbar. Exceptional work throughout.
