Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden creates an amazing folder -- and at a price that could never be found from an American maker.
The slender dagger ground blade has silky-smooth action and is well centered. The Damascus pattern -- depicting silver chains moving across a black background -- is deceptively simple and the complexity quickly comes to the fore upon closer examination. Both mosaic Damascus bolsters and blade were created from Damascus forged by renowned steel maker, Ettoré Gianferarri, assuring that the patterns will be unique and different from those generally found on the American market. Exhibition grade mammoth ivory scales are a deep blue. The color is tremendously unique and dramatic. The scales are nicely dovetailed to the bolsters. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
