Description: South African knifemaker Andre van Heerden creates an amazing folder -- and at a price that could never be found from an American maker.
The drop point blade has silky-smooth action and is perfectly centered. The Mosaic Damascus used throughout the knife was forged by Ettoré Gianferarri, assuring that the patterns will be unique and different from those generally found on the American market. Both the blade and bolsters are extremely complex and immediately grab attention. Exhibition grade mammoth ivory scales are a deep blue/green with chocolate and silver veins. The tusk was found in a silver mine. The colors found in mammoth ivory are a result of minerals close to the ivory under the ground. In this case, veins of silver run through the mammoth ivory bark to a truly wonderful and unique appearance. The scales are nicely dovetailed to the bolsters. Fileworked titanium liners have been bronze anodized and surround the stainless steel backbar. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
