Description: Charles Stout became a mastersmith at the 2007 Blade Show in Atlanta. It is clear from his precision work that he well deserves the honor.
The blade was forged to shape from 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. A tight ladder pattern shows off tremendous control in the forge. The clip has been brought just short of a fully sharpened edge.
The handle is formed by exhibition grade desert ironwood. The tight, swirling grain pattern has warm tones that are nicely complimented by the nickel silver guard, pins and spacers. The spacers make this one of the most unique and pleasing knives that I have seen in some time -- lending both visual interest and a great feel in the hand. Fit and finish befitting a master!
