Description: Johan Gustafsson is famed for creating some of the most detailed Damascus found anywhere -- and this is an exceptional example of his work.
The blade and scales are formed from matching mosaic Damascus. An accordion cut results in overlapping spirographs traveling across a background of stars. Johan has spent years developing a complex heat coloring technique to bring out colors rarely, if ever, found in other makers' work. Here, The spirographs are a bright silver with blue, green, gold, and purple stars. The resulting Damascus is both visually interesting from a distance and captivating upon closer examination. Mammoth ivory has been inlaid into cutouts in the frame. The scales sit on fully fileworked and anodized titanium liners. Full Damascus backbar. Gold plated screws finish out the presentation.
The blade has silky-smooth action and is easily opened using the damascus thumb stud which holds a diamond. The adjustable stops, unique to Johan's knives, allows for the blade stops to be adjusted, assuring a perfect lock over time. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
