Description: This stunning cane sword is the work of PJ Tomes and every inch of it shows the hand of a Mastersmith.
The handle of this great looking walking stick is a highly detailed, carved piece of mammoth ivory featuring an eagle’s talon gripping an orb. The ivory handle measures 3 1/8" x 1 5/8" and tops a one inch 416 stainless steel collar. The collar has been meticulously engraved in a floral vine pattern and completes the full circumference without break (quite a feat on its own!). The exhibition grade snakewood shaft shows off striations of light and dark through the warm toned wood and is finished off with a 2 1/8" buffalo horn tip. The eagle’s talon features a hand corded kangaroo hide leather lanyard. Overall length is 37 1/4".
A simple twist frees the 20 7/8" blade, made exclusively for gentleman’s walking sticks by Clarkson of England. The blade has been friction fit so it is possible to remove from the talon, thus making it legal to carry in any jurisdiction. The fit between the shaft and blade is exceptional -- and all the more so considering the shaft is one solid piece. Superb craftsmanship!
