Description: Daniel Winkler and Karen shook create works of art that will soon become family heirlooms. They have been a large part of defining the primitive knife movement in the United States.
The exhibition grade mammoth ivory scales are cream toned with chocolate veins. This Damascus Small Hunter has a dramatic sense of presence. Carbon steels were forged into a many layered random pattern. The flats were textured to resemble the patterns of an old Nickelson file. The spine has been lightly fileworked for a secure thumb purchase. The full tang has been distal tapered for excellent balance in the hand.
The knife is accompanied by a sheath by Karen Shook. The frontier style sheath is formed from rawhide and has a seam and fringe traveling around the edge. Decorations include leather tassels decorated with trade beads, tin cones, and horse hair. Accompanied by certificate from the maker. Accompanied by certificate from the maker.
