Description: This exceptional Southwest style Bowie is the work of Mastersmith David Anders, who is well known for his precision and dramatic style. The Bowie features a jellyroll pattern Damascus forged from 15N20 and 1080 carbon steels as well as pure nickel with a clip point. The clip is brought just short of a fully sharpened edge. The Damascus pattern is immediately captivating both from a distance and up close.
This fossil mammoth ivory scales are held on with 12 domed small and two large flat nickel silver pins on each side, creating a very dramatic look. The mammoth ivory bark has spectacular green tones with hints of the caramel toned ivory just below the surface. The bolsters and butt cap have been fileworked for excellent integration. By encasing the tang in stainless steel, David protects it from skin oils, which can cause the tang to oxidize. Attention has been paid to every detail
