Description: Collectors of Anders' work know that he has some of the tightest tolerances of any maker, anywhere. Anders excels in creating a fusion of Japanese and Nordic styles as shown in this exceptional boot knife. The blade shape is drawn from yari, Japanese pole arm and has a very elegant shape.
The copper guard has been textured and antiqued. By casting, he is able to create fittings that integrate into the dagger, creating a true masterwork. The hamon (temper lines) created by Anders' clay heat treat process is also drawn from Japanese swordsmiths. This technique makes a knife that has excellent edge retention, while also having the support of a softer central core. The hamon on this knife follows along both edges and is particularly difficult to achieve, showing tremendous control. The handle is formed from a wholly mammoth cheek bone. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
