Description: This sculptural piece takes the wave form as its central theme. Alternately capturing light and creating shadows as the piece is moved through the light, "Shadowplay" takes the desk knife in a different direction.
Cutouts in the scabbard/stand reveal a san mai heat colored dagger blade by Danish smith Poul Strande. A central bar of 20C carbon steel is surrounded by layers of ladder pattern Damascus. The heat blued patterns are extremely dramatic and immediately form a central focus of the piece.
Deep double dyed Big leaf Oregon maple burl form the handle and sheath stand. Red buffalo horn is used for the guard and sheath top. Showing incredible craftsmanship, the piece can be taken apart for maintenance. Fileworked nickel silver pommel screw and stand base continue the wave form theme. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
