Description: Ricardo Vilar is one of the makers that has brought the Brazilian knife market to the forefront of American collectors' minds. His integral designs and attention to detail clearly set him apart as a leader.
This hunter was forged from a single 52100 carbon steel round bar. This allowed Ricardo to create the integral ferrule, moving directly into the satin finished blade. 52100 continues to be one of the favorite steels for edge holding among knife users and enthusiasts. The edge is very 'bity' and amazingly long lasting. Ricardo has created this knife with an appleseed grind -- the edge preferred by many ABS members for high performance edge retention.
The blade has a classic straight spine shape that is immediately captivating. The guajuvira wood handle melds perfectly into the 52100 ferrule, nearly without a seam. The round, sculpted shape feels very comfortable in the hand and is extremely dramatic. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
