Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. In fact, this knife was forged in Bill's shop under Bill's watchful eye. It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. By all appearances, Henry could have made it yesterday.
Following the methods developed by Mastersmiths Ed Fowler and Bill Burke, the blade was hand forged at low temperatures, ensuring a smooth, fine grain structure is knife. A triple quench and triple temper creates some of the sharpest and most long lasting edges found anywhere.
The nickel silver guard and black fiber spacers allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. When wet, sheep horn does not become slippery and it is amazingly durable. The spacer is created by taking two sheep horn end cuts and aligning them outward, producing a very pleasing effect. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
