Description: Micke Andersson's work is exceptional and innovative. The dramatic blade is forged combining a twist pattern Damascus spine with a firecracker pattern edge. Both Damascus bars were forged from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for a keen, long lasting edge. The spine has been fileworked for a secure thumb purchase. From the ricasso, the blade moves into an integral guard. Integral guards are rare on custom knives do to the exceptional difficulty. The result, however, is well worth the extra work, as shown so clearly by Micke. The handle is formed from fossil mammoth ivory and is finished off with a Damascus pommel. Red fiber spacers allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Exceptional work throughout.
