Description: Swedish bladesmith Michael Andersson is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many Nordic knifemakers, Michael believes very strongly in sole authorship, from forging the blade to shape, to creating the Damascus, to sewing the sheath. His style is immediately identifiable and is very dramatic.
The composite Damascus blade is formed from four separate bars of steel -- each with brilliant Damascus patterns. The central section of the blade is formed from three bars of twist pattern Damascus set in opposing directions. Highly detailed mosaic Damascus stallions are forged into the blade just in front of the ricasso. The spine is a soft tool steel. The edge is a firecracker pattern forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for exceptional edge holding.
The exceptional blade leads into the Twist pattern Damascus oval guard. Twist pattern spacers surround fossil mammoth ivory. The ivory has burnt cream tones highlighted by deep blues.
Accompanied by hand stitched traditional Swedish leather sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
