Description: Lonnie used a traditional Japanese clay heat treatment on this blade. Visually, this creates a hamon which is the hallmark of this style of blade. Technically, it produces a very hard edge that sharpens well and maintains the sharpened edge while allowing the spine of the blade to be especially resilent. Lonnie cast the Habaki and Seppas out of copper. The Tsuba is sterling silver and was made by D.R. Langenbacker. Fred Lohman made the Fuchi Kashira and Menuki of sterling silver and then gold plated them. The Shitodome is sterling silver and was also produced by Fred Lohman. Lonnie's work has a spectacular quality of harmony that is prized among collectors.
