Description: This exceptional friction folder is the work of Tom Sterling, who recently added forging to his inventory of skills. Tom is best known for as a netsuke artist and his attention to detail has translated well to this piece. The blade was hand forged from 1080 carbon steel. An appleseed grind assures a keen, long lasting edge. The spine has been forge-textured for a dramatic rustic appearance. The spiraled "rat tail" makes the knife easy to open. It also acts as a 'lock' when using the knife. The handle combines boxwood and fossil ivory accents. Excellent work throughout.
