Description: Intersecting lines, diamonds and triangle forms are the theme in this dynamic piece -- starting from the tip of the powerful and complex mosaic damascus blade by renowned Swedish bladesmith Micke Andersson, following through the double guard of Mattias Styrefors twist and mosaic Damascus, and culminating in the intricately inlaid buffalo horn handle.
The highly complex mosaic Damascus blade combines a firecracker edge and spine surrounding a spiderweb pattern central bar. 20C and 15N20 carbon steels assure a keen, long lasting edge. The blade has tremendous complexity, combining bold and complex patterns so as to be both fascinating from a distance and up close. The double guard incorporates Mattias Styrefors twist and spiderweb patterns. Spiderweb patterns by Mattias and Micke nicely compliment each other. The handle was created using screwed tang construction through the hidden pined, cased and fileworked handle liners. This technique ensures a solid knife that will last for many years to come. Lastly, Jeff finished the knife off with a fileworked nickel silver pyramid. The sheath is formed from dyed silver birch with fine silver inlay in Celtic knot work patterns. Nice work throughout.
