Description: This masterpiece quillion dagger was created by renowned knifemaker Willie Rigney. Willie has stopped making knives some years back (in the late 90s) and finding one of his daggers is a much anticipated rarity. This piece was specially commissioned from Willie and has been in a single collection. It has never been used to cut and has never been sharpened after it was made. It is in new condition and shows no scuffs or scratches.
The Damascus, leaf shape blade was forged by Jerry Rados from carbon steels. The grind lines nicely show off the damscene lines and a central indent at the ricasso is particularly appealing. The guard, ferrule, and pommel are all forged from mild steel and heat blued to a deep black tone. Julie Warrenski inlaid platinum and 24kt gold vines and leaves into the handle for exceptional detail. The central handle column is formed from Guatemalan black jade and has been nicely polished.
An exceptional find with tremendous fit and finish throughout.
