Description: American Bladesmith Society Mastersmith Rick Dunkerley has been one of the major forces to define the American folding knife today. The design, fit, finish, and action are all exception. The intricacy and originality of his Damascus is rarely found in other's work.
The mosaic Damascus forged for the blade has a bold pattern incorporating blue, purple and pure silver lines. The result is a Damascus pattern that is both fascinating from a distance and up close.
The screws have been fully fileworked and heat blued, nicely contrasting the engraved sterling silver scales. The scales are meticulously engraved by Rick in the Western Engraving style. 15N20 carbon steel liners have been heat blued, textured, and fileworked to a deep metallic blue. By alternating fileworking and texturing, the liners take on a life of their own. This heat blued backbar is forged from matching Damascus. The hand turned thumb stud has been fileworked and holds a ruby. Excellent fit and finish throughout. Silky smooth action with a well centered blade.
This knife was featured on page 154 of Knives 2007.
